The IPCC Stockholm Conference 2013 warns again of rising sea levels, an impact of climate change on the oceans. Climate change is already threatening especially the most beautiful marine life of the earth. Human influence on the climate system is clear. This is evident in most regions of the globe, as the new assessment by the IPCC concludes. Steps to avoid CO2 are possible in everyday life of all of us. We show such a step for the film production.

In German the term “ins rudern kommen” which can be translated into “start to row” is used for a situation when you get difficulties in the things you do. For example when you get stressed by the next deadline or when seeking for the correct answers in a job interview. But we can assure you, that you’re sitting in one boat with many others rowers.
Grüezi Switzerland – enjoy your national holiday! We congratulate with 26.000 stock footage clips shot by our contributors.
Today we are sitting in our office at 36°c, wistfully watching video clips of your mighty glaciers – and dreaming of fresh air and green meadows. In the footsteps of your beloved “Heidi”, some of us once even climbed on your highest summit, the Monte Rosa – an unforgettable experience!
(Hopefully climate change will not destroy your ice giants. Our Green Cart initiative aims to help them by avoiding CO2 in film production.)
Anyway, we wish that your natural beauty will stay forever – and continue to serve as a motive to our filmmakers. This flight over the Mythen is Framepool’s contribution to the Swiss national holiday 2013 – enjoy!
In July 1933 a crowd of over 40.000 people welcomed the aviator Wiley Post in New York City, who had circled around the world alone in 8 days. Aviation was still an adventure and aviators and aviatrixes like Lindbergh, Post or Amelia Earhart gave the proof that the plane will become the main transportation system for long distances. Post used a high-wing, single-engine Lockheed Vega, one of the most famous record-breaking aircraft of the early 1930s. Our stock footage clip, scanned from film to HD video, shows the confetti parade in New York City after his return from the flight, July 23, 1933.

On 28 August is the 50th Anniversary of the March on Washington. This film is edited from our HD stock footage and dedicated to Martin Luther King – one of the greatest political leaders of 20th century. More than 250.000 participants made the March on Washington to the greatest demonstration for civil rights and freedom that America had ever seen so far. The stock footage has been shot on 16mm film and transferred to HD by Framepool.

The 8 July 2013 marks the 175th birthday of the aviation pioneer Ferdinand von Zeppelin, who founded the Zeppelin Airship company. On 2 July 1900, Zeppelin made the first flight with the LZ 1 over Lake Constance near Friedrichshafen. Framepool presents a lot of unique archival filmclips that illustrate the history of the Zeppelins and in particular the tragedy of Lakehurst, where the airship LZ 129 exploded, thus terminating the age of the Zeppelins. This HD video clip shows the airship Hindenburg crossing over New York and the drama of its explosion when landing in Lakehurst airfield on 6 May 1937.
Thankfully, numerous initiatives have been adopted by the film, broadcast and advertising industries to reduce the toxic emissions of C02 in film production. Greenpeace recently realized a video about CO2 dangers with Framepool footage.
Framepool is pleased to be part of the film community’s effort to ensure a more healthier planet by introducing The Green Cart – license videoclips online and protect the environment. The use of stock footage helps you run a more climate friendly, ecological and economical production.

This film collage shows some impressions edited with our footage of the state visits of the Presidents Kennedy and Obama in Berlin 1963 and 2013.
The researchers of Framepool recently found a 35mm color archival film reel about the state visit of President John F. Kennedy in Wiesbaden, June 25th and 26th 1963 that has never been shown to the public yet. You can watch the film digitized in full HD.
