The 8 July 2013 marks the 175th birthday of the pioneer Ferdinand von , who founded the Airship company. On 2 July 1900, made the first flight with the LZ 1 over Lake Constance near Friedrichshafen. Framepool presents a lot of unique archival filmclips that illustrate the of the Zeppelins and in particular the tragedy of , where the airship exploded, thus terminating the age of the Zeppelins. This HD clip shows the airship crossing over New York and the drama of its explosion when landing in airfield on 6 May 1937.
